The climbing area around San Vito lo Capo was extensively developed approximately starting with the year 2005. The main developers of that period have been Daniele Arena, Josef Gstöttenmayr, Scott and Jim Titt. A bit later Karsten Oelze, Augusto Rossi and Harald Röker contributed with many routes, other developers followed. All these fantastic climbing routes have been financed by own funds of the developers, Jim Titt with his company "Bolt Products" (external link) contributed with countless bolts.

Just these above mentioned 7 main developers have created by their unsalaried commitment about 770 routes which is far more than half of the route potential of the area. And if apart from the costs for the material one counts in also the immense working time under highly dangerous working conditions, they left behind a gratuitous value creation of far more than 400.000 EUR for the climbing community.

Fund-raising - "ReBolting San Vito"

Now many sectors got old and need urgently a re-bolting campaign. The time has definitely arrived that the climbing community is doing now something for the preservation of the area and the routes. Therefore Marco Peralta from "Timbuktu Hostel" (external link) and the newly established climbing info centre "S. V. Climbing" (external link) brought a fund-raising campaign into beeing, to be able to purchase high quality material for the area.
